On 2023-10-18 at 19:00
Presenter: Ingrid Birker, Alumna, Redpath Museum Public Education Program (McGill University). Learn about the story that starts 420 million years ago in what is now Miguasha, Quebec and finishes in Westmount Park. Ms. Birker will give a fascinating presentation about the palaeobotanical evolution of eastern Canada. Using samples of fossil plants from this formidable museum’s collections, she will show us how ancient fossils have been used by ecologists to reconstruct entire plant species, their evolutionary histories and past environments.
Due to the cancelation of our September meeting, we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the West End Horticultural Society during our October meeting: please join us!
